DESCRIPTION:
2,000 Parishioners at St. Columbkille Catholic Church are enjoying their new 21,500sft Parish Hall and 11,500sft Education Building. The $5 million facility was built by PBS Construction and designed by Victor Latavish, AIA, to match the campus’ existing sanctuary. The interior floorplan was laid out to maximize functionality for the active parish.
The Parish Hall features a 9,000sft main hall – the largest venue of its kind in the area – which can handle groups of 500-1,200 people. Additionally, the hall has a 1,000sft proscenium stage, fully equipped commercial kitchen and two smaller community rooms for groups of 40-50 people. St. Columbkille’s administrative staff is also housed in this building. The office contains sixteen offices and a conference room, and was laid out specifically to encourage collaboration among the staff members.
The Education Building contains eleven classroom / meeting rooms, a nursery and youth activity room. The smallest architectural details were included in designing the nursery with windows at a toddler’s eye level as well as kid-size restrooms. The campus expansion will allow St. Columbkille to more effectively manage their extensive community outreach program.
