LOCATION:                  Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers
OWNER:                       Iona Hope Episcopal Church
ARCHITECT:               Victor Latavish, AIA

DESCRIPTION:
PBS Construction was contracted to redevelop Iona Hope’s five-acre campus. The project included the construction of a new 8,000sft sanctuary building. Parishioners were able to move out of a temporary modular building. The sanctuary features floating wood ceilings, a state-of-the-art audio visual system, and a custom mural of John The Baptist located by the sacristy.

In order for the building to be added, the site had to be re-configured. Asphalt and ‘Green’ parking spaces were added to so the church could handle the extra parishioners. The landscaping was revamped with royal palm trees and a water feature in the rear of the campus. Additionally, the church built a monument entry feature with an 8-foot cross and a custom bell for more visibility from Gladiolus Road.

The church and campus were designed by local architect, Victor Latavish, AIA. The $1.45 million project took seven months to complete. PBS Construction was able to complete the project early so that parishioners could celebrate Christmas in their new sanctuary.
