As I looked at November in my calendar, I couldn’t help but think of what November meant to me when I was a child. There would be a crisp feeling in the air, and my mind turned toward the holidays and school vacation. The leaves were done turning and were falling off the trees, and I wondered if we would get a lot of snow that year. I used to love snow.

November still means the year is winding down and coming to a close, but the significance is different. November brings the end of the election cycle, and we get an opportunity to have our say, to stand up and be counted. It gives us the opportunity to honor our veterans whose sacrifices and contributions are the reason we get to have our say in November. And we get the chance before the crazy retail season goes into full swing to give thanks for all the blessings, large and small, we received throughout the year.

So during this moment of reflection, I ask you to join the PBS Team in giving thanks. Thanks for the votes, thanks to the Vets, thanks to the people helping people get through the challenges that life brings, and thanks for the little things that give us joy and a little peace. Take a moment to enjoy some time this month with those who mean the most to you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, and if the winds seem to blow in that direction, check out our Careers page and COME BUILD WITH US!
